Family Weekend: Happy Leaves, Dancing Leaves,.....Bend like a Reed in the Wind

August 25-27 Friday dinner through Sunday lunch

An arts and yoga workshop for children and their parents.

Our workshop welcomes families and children of all ages. Lizzy Holm, a certified Hatha Yoga instructor will be available throughout the day in the mornings, afternoon and eveings. This will be a weekend where families can learn to integrate yoga into the family atmosphere. There will be an emphasis on creating a home practice for those whose lives are too busy to go to classes on a regular basis. We wish to introduce Yoga as a tool that one can take off the shelf at any time to utilize at home, and learn to "bend like a reed in the wind."

Some classes will be open to all ages, but those who wish are free to leave if they desire: meditate, take long walks, or simply sit in a quiet place and just "be". Lizzy Holm would also be happy to lead group meditations for people of all ages.

Children are encouraged to join with Moms and Dads, although there wil be plenty of other activities for the kids as well: story circles and nurturing creativity through the use of arts and crafts with artist/writer Daria Sellon McQuade and her husband illustrator Patrick McQuade, who have been visiting schools and working with children in connection with their children's book projects. Together they wil explore the Pumpkin Hollow grounds, utilizing the beauty and serenity of Pumpkin Hollow's surroundings to nurture the imagination of the children, urging them to make up their own songs. stories, dances and art. Mattias Nillson, accomplished guitarist, will be holding daytime as well as evening campfire sing-a-longs throughout the weekend.

*please note that we will have a responsible and caring childcare attendant for the smaller children who need looking after throughout the weekend.
