Dr. Faustus in the Tradition of Magic and Alchemy
The perennial legend of the magician Faustus, dramatized by Marlowe and Goethe, represents the creative source of the disciplines of ceremonial magic and alchemy The poetic story of Faustus (as told by Goethe in his 'Faust') will be reviewed and the Theosophical relevance of the legend as well as of Magic and Alchemy will be elucidated.
A copy of Goethe's 'Faust ' (Parts 1 & 2, any translation) may be helpful for those attending.

Dr. Stephan A. Hoeller is an author and lecturer on Gnosticism, Jungian Psychology, Theosophy and other esoteric subjects. He is also a bishop of Ecclesia Gnostica and director of studies of the Gnostic Society in Hollywood CA. He is a retired professor of Comparitve Religion and has lectured at Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center consecutively for over 20 years.
