Bodhicitta - Awakening the Heart

Program Image:
May 3-5, 2024, Friday dinner through Sunday lunch

So often we live in our minds, stuck in rigid ideas of who we are, reacting automatically and out of habit to our world. In this weekend meditation retreat, we'll practice being and living in a heart centered way, in touch with our vulnerability, and tapped into the freedom that's available to us when we're living in the present moment. There will be a mix of sitting and walking meditation, guided contemplation, dharma talks, and group conversation. Open to all levels of past meditation experience.

Facilitator Information:

Doug Cullen resides in the town of High Falls in the Hudson Valley of upstate New York. He has been practicing for the past 25 years in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Formerly part of the NYC Shambhala sangha, for the past 13 years he has been an active member of the Sky Lake Shambhala center in Rosendale NY. He has completed several month long meditation retreats and solitary retreats at Karmê Chöling meditation center in northern Vermont. His teaching style is primarily influenced by the wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chödrön.

He gives many thanks to his primary teachers at Zen Mountain Monastery, as well as Cheri Huber and Thich Nhat Hanh.
